Support Utility

 

The Support utility program and its information screens are designed to assist technical support when problems occur. The General tab screen on the shows the paths used by the installation on this computer. You can access the Support program from within Aeris by going to:

 

        Help > About Aeris Basic

 

and clicking the Information button. You can also get here from the Windows Start button by going to:

 

        Start > All Programs > Beaver Creek Software > Aeris Basic > Support Information

 

However you get here, the program opens with the following screen.

 

 

The License tab screen displays a variety of information that pertains to your license.

 

 

The Windows tab shows information about the version of Windows you are running.

 

 

The Program Files tab lists the program files on the left and the information about those files on the right. Highlight a file and click a version item to see its value in the Item Value box.

 

 

The Message Log button opens a list of all messages displayed by the program.

 

The Fatal Errors button shows a list of error files created when the program crashes with a fatal error.

 

The Edit INI File button takes you to the Windows notepad program with the program's main configuration file loaded. Editing this INI file is a potentially dangerous operation so you this function requires an unlock code from technical support.

 

The Edit Registry button opens the Windows registry editor where you can edit the program's entries. Editing the registry is a potentially dangerous operation so you this function requires an unlock code from technical support.

 

The Refresh button refreshes the information on the General and License tabs when changes are made to the Registry and/or the INI configuration file.
