The transaction tab presents a list of all services, non-service charges, and payments on this patient's account. Completed transactions more than 30 days old are not shown unless the Show Closed Transactions check box is checked.

 

The various types of transactions are indicated by the icon displayed along the left side of the transaction.

 

 

To add a new transaction, click the Insert button. When you do , the following menu appears:

 

 

The Apply Active Payment selection, disabled in the above screen, is enabled only when an active payment is present.

For the full range of options on the transactions list, right click the list to get the following popup menu:

 

 

Notice that the top six items exactly match the Insert button menu. The View Active Payment selection will be enabled when an active payment is present.

 

Recalculate This Patient lets you recalculate the service balances and overall patient balances for this patient, though this is seldom necessary. You can recalculate balances for all patients on the Tools menu. This is potentially a lengthy process.

 

The bottom three selections change depending on the type of transaction you are highlighting, in this case an insurance payment.
